HTML means - Hyper Text Markup Lanugage. It is the most used language nowadays. Basically, it is a simple design or markup language. It is a language by which with it and also using Cacading Stylesheet(CSS), Javascript, PHP we can make web pages or web applications and for that HTML is the basic structure language.
Invention Of HTML:
In 1980 Tim Berners-Lee give a proposal to share the documents to other. From then the HTML language has come. He then with one of his make something more but that was not granted then by their company CERN. From after 10 years, that means in 1990, his HTML hypertext has spread out. And now, HTML is a markup language that web programs use to decipher and create content, pictures, and other material into visual or web pages.

And this Sir Tim Berners-Lee mainly has invented the web. His father and mother were early computer scientist then. He studied in Oxford University, then join in CERN as a software Engineer. He gave a proposal to the CERN but it has approved that. See his proposal in CERN.
Then finally Tim Berner write his first web browser in 1990 when he was employed in CERN of Switzerland.
Tim has an another friend named Robert Cailliau has made a propsal of world wide web, then it was accepted and now we are seeing this in browser. We see the web.
This is how WWW has come, this is how HTML has come and we've seen the age of science and everything..
